OBITUARY.

MB. W. H. WYBOURNE,

It is with deep regret that w 7 c have to record the death of Mr. W. H. Wybourne, Avhich took place with tragic suddenness at his home at Eangikura early on Wednesday morning. The deceased, who w r as a son of the late Mr. M. H. Wybournc, was born in Wanganui and on leaving school took up farming in the Whenuakura district, where he resided throughout the whole of his life. Possessed of a very winning personality, he made for himself a host of friends, no settler being more generally respected and liked throughout the district. His death will leave a gap in the ranks of the early settlers of Waverlcy and district that will be hard to fill. He is survived by a widow and two brothers and tw r o sisters, for whom the deepest sympathy will be C clt in their bereavement. The funeral took place at Waverlcy yesterday, the' cortege being one of the largest seen in the district, settlers coming from far and near to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased.

The services at the church and the graveside were impressively rendered by the Rev. E. Coles, vicar of Waverley.

The pall-bearers were Messrs. John and James Newland, J. Currie, B. Symes, Bailey, and J. Robertson,
