WAVERLEY

HOUSE DESTROYED BY BIKE,

PROPERTY OUTSIDE WATER. AREA Mrs. Parker, of Wavcrley, who was to have held a sale of furniture and effects yesterday afternoon prior to leaving the district, had the misfortune to have practically the whole of them destroyed at an early hour in the morning, when the house she occupied on the outskirts of the town, and owned by Mr. Sheldon Hone, of Wavcrley, was totally destroyed by fire.

When the brigade arrived the fire had a good hold, the whole building being enveloped in flames. There being no water supply, as the property was outside the town area, nothing could be saved and it was with great difficulty that the brigade saved the outbuilding, whieij eventually caught alight, the flames having to be beaten out with sacks.

The contents of the building were insured for £3OO, the building being also insured.
