Patea succeeded in defeating Hawcra on the latter’s ground on Saturday by 44 runs, thanks mainly to a good innings of 43 by L. Edwards 1 , who was well backed up by Daniell (22) and P. Bourkc, who was unfortunately run out just when he appeared well set.
