GIRL’S HUNDRED PROPOSALS

TOO BEAUTIFUL FOB TENNIS,

A girl who might have been a world’s' champion at tennis has had to give up the game in Germany because she is too beautiful!

She is Franlein Zca Sonbreb, a native of Hungary, who not long ago figured prominently in all the important tenuis tournaments throughout

Germany. Blonde and lithe of figure as a boy, Franlein Soubrct had much of the ball control of Mile. Lenglen, while her coolness and resource in

hard matches shoAved that she possessed the qualities that made Helen Wills supreme. ,

Then suddenly she dropped out of the game, and it was. only recently that the real reason for her absence was made public. According to a statement made by af close friend, Franlein Soubrot has definitely giA-cn up all her tennis cn-, gagoments because of the embarrassment caused to her through the attentions of male spectators. As beautiful on the courts as off, wherever she appeared in public she was pestered by admirers. In one year she received more than 100 proposals of marriage! Now the girl has definitely decided not to accept any more invitations to play in public tournaments in Germany. But she may be seen next year at Wimbledon, for she believes that men in England will treat her Avith more detachment.
