PATEA FIRE BRIGADE
GILBERT MEMORIAL COMPETITION.
The local Fire Brigade ran the Gilbert Memorial Competition on the Domain on February 21, when Fireman C. Carey once again headed the list with a fine run from scratch. Fireman D. Ainsley was runner-up with a fine performance for a young fireman. The results arc as follows: — C. Carey, handicap ser., run 58, penalty 1, finishing time 59. D. Ainsley, 17, 73 1-5, 3,"59 1-5. N.
