-MAN KILLED; A NOTH Eli INJURE! One man was killed ami aauthe gravely injured when a number o. heavy condenser coils collapsed at th, Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company’s premises at the week-end. John Logan was killed and William David Me Lean injured. Both were middle-aged married men. The men were placing the condensers, each weighing one ton, in position when they collapsed like a pack of cards. Both men were crushed, receiving terrible injuries to head and body. !Pith, were alive when extricated, but Logan soon died. McLean's condition is very serious. A distressing feature of the accident was that it occurred just a moment before the men were to have stopped work for their “smoko,” .Immediately after the accident the whistle blew to cense work.
