BETTFIt UY OVKII TWOPENCE. NKA.It!A* WHOM-: CATA 1.00 UK SOLD. Prices realised at die wool side id Ohristelnirch on Wednesday showed an advance of 2d to 2d on those of the January sale. The catalogue comprised 12,121 bales, mostly back country clips. The ((Utility was below die average of catalogues for this period of the year. Bidding throughout die sab 1 was keen and often excited and practically the whole catalogue was cleared. Japan teas a keen buyer for all serviceable line wools. Bradford bought extensively and France was also in the market. Compared with the January auction Corriedale was better ,by 2id to 2d, .Merino was slightly less, and crossbred bettor by 2d. There was a good demand for fine crossbred and the scale of prices was more than a penny per pound better than at the opening sale of December. The top price of die sale was 10:{d for 33 bales of halfbrcd. SYDNEY PRICES ADVANCING At die wool, sales on March 4 at Sydney the offerings totalled 10,813 bales, of which 10,(547 were sold. In addition (575 were sold privately. There was a very brisk demand and satisfactorv clearances. Prices showed an advance of sto 71 per cent. Japanese demand for crossbreds was a feature. Greasy Merino made up to 233 d.
