POSTAL VAN DESTROYED. WE Ltd IN GTON TO AUO K 1 .AN D. Most of the postal matter contained in the postal van on. Monday is 2 p.m. Wellington-Aucklaad express was burned late on Monday evening when the train was between Waiouru and‘Tangawai, about" 185 miles from Wellington. First advice reached railway head quarters, Wellington, at 11.10 p.m., in a brief message which said that the van had been destroyed, with most of the postal matter, but no one had been injured. It was expected-that (he remains of the van would be left at Tangiwai. and that the express would continue its journey at 11.00 p.m.
