FARM MYSTERY
MFETEREE ’« DISCO VEE V. CATTLE FOUXD SHOT. The latest development in the mystery of Donald Morrison, the farmer of Kohuratahi, whose house was destroyed Ly lire in strange circumstances on tebruary .19, and of whom no trace has been seen, is that some men engaged in mustering on the farm discovered at least a dozen cattle in a secluded gully, dead from bullet wounds. From the appearance of the cattle it is practically certain that some were killed three or four weeks ago. Others, noticeably two house cows, appear to have been shot at about the date of the lire. Evidently stock were driven at various times and in various numbers to the gully, and there, for no apparent reason, butchered with a rifle. Those in ichargc of the present operations on the farm arc inclined to think that tire missing horses and dogs will be found to have met a similar fate as the cattle, but probably in another obscure corner. 'Meanwhile no trace of Morrison has been discovered.
