16 YEARS HARBOURMASTER
WLLLINGTOX MAX RESIGNS. Captain •!. E. Dawson, harbourmaster at Wellington for nearly Irt years, has resigned. Captain .Dawson was granted special leave of absence on full pay for six months. His resignation will take elfeef from August ML Captain -I. Spence, deputy-harbour-master. has been appointed acting-har-bourmaster, and Captain B. S. Peterson acting deputy-harbourmaster. Both appointments date I rom March 1. the question of permanent appointments' will come np for decision at the expiration of six month's from that date.
