DAIRY MARKET STEADY
CHEESE PRICES MAINTAINED. BUTTER QUOTED AT 120* TO 1225. The butter and cheese markets, according to latest reports, appear to be steady with a slight easing in butter prices, as compared with those of last week. The reports of the cheese market vary, but prices appear to be maintained. One firm states there is a prospect of prices going higher. The butter market is quiet and slightly easier, states another message from London dated ‘Thursday. Danish is quoted at 140 s to 1425; choicest salted New Zealand, 120 sto 1225; Australian, 120 s to 121 s; unsalted New Zealand 12fls to 128 s; Australian, 122 s to 120 s. The cheese market is steady, continues the cable, which reports that New Zealand white is selling at 57s to oSs. coloured at 595, and Australian at 50s to 58s.
