PATEA PLUNKET SOCIETY
MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Patea Plunket Society was held in tho Plunkot rooms on Friday last, Mrs. T. E. Roberts presiding. Mesdamcs Smiles, Mackon, Ramsbottom, J. Pearce, Row, Hadd'ow, Inglby, R. Hunger, Roots, Jenkins, L. Honeyfield, and Miss B. Gibson wore also present. Alopogiea for non-attendanco were received from Mesdamcs C. Carey and R. M. Stevens. Before commencing the business of the meeting those present stood in silence as a mark of sympathy with the (sufferers in the recent earthquake disaster. NURSE’S REPORT. . The Plunket Nurse’s report for January was read as / follows and adopted: Babies on books, 40; older babies, 41; new cases for January, 14; visits to office, 4 days, adults 79, babies 47, children 25, total 151; visits to homes, 38; visits to sub-branches, 12 days, adults 98, babies 05, children 29, total 192; sales of Kariol, etc., £l2 2s 4d; hire of scales, 2s. It was decided to hold Mothers’ Day in the Town Hall supper room on Thursday, March 20. The president explained that to meet current expenses it would bo necessary to hold the annual dance to raise funds. It was decided that it be I early in May. •he meeting then rose.
