PATE A V. ALTON. An enjoyable inter-club match between Patca and Alton was played at Patea on Wednesday last in stormy weather, resulting in a win for Alton by 13 sots to JI. At the conclusion of the games Air. D. Hurley, on behalf of the visitors, thanked tho Patea Ckilb for its hospitality and for the enjoyable games, and extended a hearty invitation to play a return match at Alton when convenient. Mr. W. F. Sheild, president of the Patea Club, suitably respomllcd. • thanking Mr. Hurley for his invitation, which he hoped the club would be able to accept this season. Cheers were interchanged.
