Kanisbottom) received the following telegram on Friday:—“Please inform me if you can still take women and children from earthquake area and maintain them until repatriated. Word was received by the Town Clerk on Saturday that 80 refugees will arrive by the mail train this evening, when they will be met by the Mayor and others with cars, who will take them to their billets.
