DUE AT PANAMA YESTERDAY. Tho now Government lighthouse steamer Matai, which ,is being brought out under Captain Manning to replace the Tutanekai, was expected to roach Panama yesterday. Cabled advice has been received that she left St. Thomas, in the West Indies, on Saturday last, and the distance from St. Thomas to Colon is just over .1000 miles. It is thought that tho Matai probably called at St. Thomas to shelter from the tornado which wrecked San Domingo.
