PATEA DOMAIN BOARD
ORDINARY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Patea Domain Board was held on Friday, Mr. E. F. Hemingway presiding. Messrs. Cronin, Ramsbottom, Roberts, Jenkins, and Locker were also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Before the ordinary business of the meeting was proceeded with the chairman referred to the death of Mr. C. H. Fairweathor, a former member of the board, and for some time chairman, and also the death of Mrs. Fairweather, which had taken place a week after that of Mr. Fairweather. He moved that a letter of condolence bo forwarded to tho relatives of the deceased. Tho :esolution was carried in silence, numbers standing. An application was received from the Patea Football Club for the use of the shed on Tuesday nights for training purposes, and Mr. J. Gordon, for the use of the shed on Thursday nights for a boxing school. Both applications were granted, the secretary to fix the amount to be charged for light.
On the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. Cronin, the matter of topdressing the sports ground was left in the hands of Mr. Ramsbottom with
power to act. It was decided to concrete tho floor of the small kiosk as soon as possible. The Patea Rifle Association was granted the use of the shed on King’s Birthday, and the matter of extra flower beds was left in tho chairman’s hands.
The chairman reported that the painting of the gates had been carried out by Mr. Eeid in a splendid TnanaXSr. The work was a credit both to Mr. Reid and the board. He had never seen better painting work carried out. Accounts wore then read and passed for payment and the board rose.
