WAVERLEY A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OP COMMITTEE. A meeting of the A. and P. Association was held in the 'Town Board room on Friday, April 11. Present; Messrs. C. E. Johnston (chairman), S. Aiken, B. Boyne, W. P. Wallace, K. Aiken, A. L. Elmslie, D. Eupton, H. W. James, G. McGregor, E. A. Aiken, T. Foley, E. .Dickie, Tom Eupton, Alex. Elmslie.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence was received from the following: N. Hughes, D. Crocker, G. G. C. Derm or, Now Zealand Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Farmers’ Union, W. H. Wybournc, Farmers’ Co-op., Miss Laird. Proposed by the chairman, seconded by G. McGregor, that accounts as read be passed for payment. The secretary submitted a balancesheet of the working of the show, showing a debit balance of £63 7s Id. It was proposed by the chairman and seconded by S. Aiken that Mr. John Wall be recommended as a judge, of fat sheep and Mr. E. P. Symes as a judge of hunters.

It was proposed by W. P. Wallace and seconded by the chairman that a vote of thanks bo accorded Messrs. D. Lupton for supplying cow feed and G. P. Spratt for arranging the parade, and the chief stewards for their good work. Carried.

It was proposed by G. McGregor, seconded by the chairman, that the association respectfully ask the Department of Agriculture and Research if they have taken up the matter of nasal bot in sheep and if so can anything effective be done to minimise the loss.

It was proposed by G. McGregor, and seconded by the chairman, that this association wishes to bring before the notice of the Government the serious risk to stock owners and the Dominion if live stock is imported from America or any country where foot and mouth disease exists.
