WEDDING. MACKIE—HOWIE. A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday afternoon at St. Andrew’s Church, Waverley, when Gertie, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Howie, was married to William John Clarke Mackie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mackie, Dundee, Scotland. The Rev. H. C. Stuart performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. J. S. Howie, Huntervillo, looked dainty in a Viclorian frock of white marietta and silver lace, her veil being held in place by sprays of orange blossom and brilliants. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Elizabeth Howie, as bridesmaid, who looked charming in a frock of lemon crepe do chine and silk lace, with hat and shoes to tone. Mr. Coutts, of Wanganui, carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held In the Town Fall, where Mrs. J. Howie, Huntcrville, received her guests wearing a beautiful frock of black satin, with hat to tone. Among the guests were: —Mr. and Mrs. L. Irvine, Mr. and Mrs. W. Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. Bremer, Mr. and Mrs. Grantham, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Alf. Howie, Mr. and Airs. AleKenzie (Bunnythorpe), Airs, and the Afisses Grantham (Hawcra), Air. and Airs. Nicholls (Wanganui), Air. and Airs. J. McLean (Hawcra), Airs. D. Howie (Palmerston North), Airs. D. Taylor, Air. and Mrs. Agate, Air. ami Airs. J. AlcDonald, Air. and Airs. Boer, Air. and Airs. C. Watts (Hawcra), Alisses Howie (2) (Huntervillo), Miss McLean, Miss Young, Aliss Mathleson, • Aliss Boer, Alessrs. Bremer (2). Hockley, AlcLean, Howie, and many others! The brido*s going away frock was a dainty beige mariette model trimmed with lace and. hat to tone. She also wore a fox fur, > the gift of the bridegroom.
