SIR JAMES PARR
TO ATTEND GENEVA CONFERENCE. The three-year term of oeffie of FT James Parr, the High Commissioner ■xpired on July 111, but Fir James has been asked by the New Zealand Go vernment to remain in charg'e for tin time being;. Ho will attend the As sembly of the League of Nations a' Geneva in September as New Zealand’chief represeatative.
The 'Government’s decision to extend Sir .James’ term until after tin meeting of the. League of Nations is undoubtedly a wise one.
The High Commissioner recently re •urned to London from a throe days’ official inspection of New Zealanc cemeteries and war memorials in France and Belgium. Sir James Parr said he found the cemeteries almost a miracle of beauty and taste, and he felt that every parent’s heart would he gladdened by the sight. The Imperial War Graves Commission hn' made a most generous expenditure on memorials to the missing. He added that he had found matters in connection with New Zealand war memorials which required the attention of tlm New Zealand Government, and that, by the next mail, he would furnish Cabinet with a full report.
