[The many friends of Mr. Wybournc, sen., will .regret to hear that he is at ■present conlincd to his bed and his condition is causing his relatives much anxiety. Mrs. H. Andrews, Wellington, is on a visit to Waverlcy and is staying at “The Hill.” Miss Young, “Lake Farm,” who was spending a holiday in Wellington, returned ■ during the week. On latest inquiry we are pleased to report that Mr. R. P. Palmer, who has been in ill-health for some time, is making satisfactory progress. The golf match between Hawera and Waverlcy, which was to have been played on ‘Thursday, had to be postponed on account of the severe weather conditions. Mr. Wright is at present suffering from an attack of influenza. The Waverley Town Board arc inviting nominations for the position of one member of the board to till the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. S. J. Taylor. Nominations close on August 7, before noon.
