A pi cal unpnn cmenl has been effected in the orchestral well in the I’atoa Town Hail. The dclapidated curtaiua that surrounded it have been removed and replaced by neat panelled boards. Tim work reflects great- credit on Mr. A. A. -Carey, who personally carried it out. The capacity of the average Britisher to take defeat with a smiling face and without bitterness towards (heir enejuies has long been a pubble to foreigners. A very line illustration of this trait was afforded at a meeting of Reform Party supporters recently, when, in spite of their recent defeat, the utmost good humour prevailed. “It’s all in the game, we must play up, play the game, aud try and do better next time,” was the general feeling expressed.
