A total cclii)sc of the moon will occur during the early part of to-morrow evening, and if conditions are favourable it should bo visible throughout New Zealand. At 6,25 p.m. the moon will enter the earth’s penumbra, but the eclipse will not commence, so far as the ordinary observer is concerned, until 7.24 p.m. At that time the shadow of the earth will make its first appearance on the moon’s disc.
