PATEA DEFEAT HAWERA. NARROW MARGIN OF 2 POINTS. Only two points separated the winners’ and losers’ scores after a return friendly bowling match played at Patea on Saturday in which the home side were victorious over a team of Hawei'a Club visitors. Patea scored 117 and Ha went 115. Details are as follows, Patea players being mentioned first in each ease; — Green, Moore, J. A. McKenna, Paterson 21 v. Shaw, Jaason, Potter, For 20. Gibbs, Hainerton, Palmer, C. Sheahan 22 v. Dillon, Foden, Adamson, R. Hicks 19. Dwyer, McGuhey, Delargey, Grant 28 v. Payne, Burgess, Wills, Robertson 19. Glenny. Paterson, T. Slieahan, Bourke 23 v. Hobbs, Ashton, Wills, Corkill 24. "Mercer, Scown, Cronin, M. Carey 23 v. Renwick. Clarke, Muslin, M. Squire 33. At the conclusion of the game the president of the Hawera Club stated he had a very pleasant duty to perform. Ho then .asked the president of the Patea Club, Mr. Paterson, to accept on behalf of his son a present and best wishes front the Hawera bowlers.
