TRAIN FALLS INTO GULLY
DRIVER’S TERRIBLE DExVTH. A sugar cane train in the Childers district, Queensland, toppled off a bridge into a gully 15 feet below. The driver, Alfred Hitch-mun, was pinned by the leg, which was crushed. He retained consciousness for six hours, while the fireman was trying to extricate him and the guard was looking for medical assistance, but he died shortly after he was rescued.
