TWO FINE RECORDS. The splendid record put up by Rifleman Roots in winning the rifle championship of the Dominion, has only been equalled by one other marksman, Rifleman Arthur Ballinger, who won the belt in 1893, 1897, and 1907, when it became his own property. Ho then very generously handed it over to the association on condition that it was named the Ballinger Belt, and that it never pass permanently into private hands. i Rifleman Roots first won the belt in 1901 as a member of the Kaponga Rifle Club and in 1922 as a member of the Hawcra Club. _ -— 1 —“ YINCENT TROPHY.
