RETURN OF EX-KAISER
BAN EXPIRES ON JULY 21. SERIOUS REASON EOR FEAR. NOT DESIRED IN GERMANY. Tim question of the ex-Kaiser’s return to Germany has boon again raised in startling form by a letter from the Prussian Premier, Herr Braun, to Dr. Marx, in which he points out that the exclusion of the Kaiser rests upon a law tor the protection of the Republic, which expires on July 21. Herr Braun outspokenly declares that if the law is not renewed, Prussia will be obliged to adopt precautionary measures as the ex-Kaiser’s return is considered highly undesirable in the interests of public peace and order, in view of possible internal, as well as foreign political complications.
It is considered that Herr Braun would not have written in this strain unless he had serious reason to believe that Wilhelm really intends to return. The now Government- have not yet made any formal declaration of their intentions, though they have been repeatedly questioned on the subject.
