AT LEVEL CROSSING. The owner of a fast ear wa.s demonstrating its speed to a friend. Approaching a railway level crossing, the nervous passenger pointed out that a train was at no great distance., “Oh, that’s all right, old fellow,” said the driver, stepping on the accelerator, “I’ll lay you a fiver we get over before the train.” “My hat,” groaned the nervous companion, “I hope it is not a dead heat. ’ ’
