The candidates for the Ambulance Glas ses arranged by the Girls Club eight in number were all successful at the recent examination held in Waverlev. Fol lowing are the names in alphabetical order, Misses TruVu Adlam, Annie Davis, Clara Davis, Barbara Elmslie, Ivy Bickford, Tui Muir, Hilda ParkA'c dp-.ace. The six candidates pi seated were successful last year also. Quito a gloom w..s ea ‘ v i; the town on Tuesday when tin*, n ... m the sudueu death at Inglewood of miss Leslie came to hand. The late Miss Leslie who was on the teaching staff of the Wavcrley Public School and was well known and her sudden death at tho early age of 22 years is much regretted by her friends. Mr. & Mrs. A. G. Wallace and Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Dickie are at present iu Auckland for the Tennis Tournament. Quite a number of Wuverley residents are preparing camps at the beach and intend taking up their abode there for lie holiday season.
