ST, GEORGE’S GIRLS’ CLUB
BURPRIBE PARTY. Members of Bt. George’s Girls’ Club paid a surprise visit to Hie vicarage an Saturday evening - , and spent a liappy time playing progressive euchre, the lirst and second prizes being won by Miss E. Corbett and M. Hopkinson, respectively.
During the evening the secretary of the club, Miss D. McDuif, took the opportunity of presenting Mrs. Goertz on behalf of the club members with a beautiful Doulton fruit bowl as a small token of their esteem and as a slight recognition of her good work as president of the dub since its formation. Miss McDuffi expressed the regret of one and all at the forthcoming departure of the Rev, and Mrs. Goertz, who, by their interest in the Girls’ Bible Class and Bocial Club, had left an ineradicable impression for good upon the members. .She wished them every happiness, success, and prosperity in their new sphere of influence. Miss 'll. Honcyfield then presented Mrs. Goertz with a dainty bouquet. Mrs. Goertz and the Rev. Goertz then suitably responded, thanking the girls for their kindly thought and beautiful gift, and wished the club continued success iu the future. Bhould any of the members ever visit Wellington a hearty welcome would be given by the Rev. and Mrs. Goertz at all times.
The gathering broke up with the singing of ‘ ‘ Por They Arc Jolly Good Follows,” and “Auld Lang Sync.”
