GENERAL INFORMATION Constituted, in 1881. Area of Borough, .1430 acres. Population (census 1021), 1168. Rateable value (annual) £12,225. Water Supply—High pressure.. Lighting—Electric light installed throughout the town. Two systems— Hydro and euction-gas plant. Drainage.—Up-to date septic tank system. Fire Prevention.—Station hydrants, motor five engine, reel, and hose. Public Library.—Lending Department, 3000 books. Subscription, 10/per abnum. Free Reading Room. Entertainment Halls. —Town Hall, Druids’ and Foresters’ Halls. - Recreation Reserves.—-About 60 acres including Football, Cricket, Tennis and Croquet grounds. Mayor.—Mr P. S. Finlayson.
