REJECTION BY LABOUR. PARTY,
In view of statements which have been made on the political platforms that there are Communists in the Hew Zealand Labour Party, the following circular issued to the various branches of the Labour Party will be of interest:—
■" The' question of the eligibility of members of the Communist Party to act as delegates to Labour Representation Committees in view of the decision of the annual conference of the party, has been considered by the National Executive, and it was unanimously de-. ,cided:=—
That a member of any political party other than the Labour Party, 'cannot act, or remain, as a delegate to any Labour Ropresenta- • tion Committee, or take part in its business. The Communist Party is regarded by this executive as a political . . party, and, according to the decisions of the annual conference, no member of that party is eligible to act as a delegate to a Labour Representation Committee. ' L j . The position of persons who were members of branches prior to the last, annual Conference was also considered, and it was decided: that—
Members of the Communist Party are not ’ eligible to remain as members of any branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. ,
