ATHLETICS.
AMERICAN VISIT ARRANGED. When the New Zealand Council abandoned the attempt to arrange a visit by American athletes, the Wellington centre took it up, and devised a practicable, scheme for inviting Scholz, the crack Olympic sprinter, and Baker, the ■mile champion of U.S.A. The sum of £SOO is required, and this has all been .guaranteed. The men are to arrive on January 14 and leave on March 16. The council was approached to take the scheme over and agreed.
