ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Wavcrley Returned Soldiers’ Association was held on the loth iust., some 20 members being present. Mr C. E. Johnston occupied the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Tho report and balance-sheet, -which showed a credit of £OO/9/11, were read and adopted. Before proceeding with the election of officers the president thanked the committee, secretary and treasurer for the support they bad given him during his term of oJiice. Tho secretary, Mr Kingsford, had worked very har’d to see that their less fortunate comrades had had their cases successfully dealt . with. Mr Johnston then moved that tho secretary and treasurer, Messrs Kingsford and Cntauach, respectively, be granted £5 each, as a slight appreciation of the valuable services rendered by them to the Association. Seconded by Mr Hurley and carried. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and resulted as under:— President: Mr O: E. Johnston, Vice-President: Mr A. G. Wallace. Secretary: Mr P. Kingsford. Treasurer: Mr H. Gatauach. Hon. Auditor: Mr J. C. Gray. Committee: Messrs J: EosS, S. O. Johnston, L. Wales, A. Old,, y. Hone, J. Prouse and J. Morrison. Mr Kingsford was. appointed to represent the Association at the District Conference at Palmerston North on May 10th. • Annual Dance. —It was resolved that tho annual dance be held, as usual, and that the proceeds be donated to the War Memorial Fund. It was also resolved that the annual smoke concert -be hold on May 21st. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the mooting.
