THE PATEA COUNTY COUNCIL ALTON GORGE SEPARATE RATE SPECIAL ORDER In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Section 122 of ‘ 1 Tho Counties Act, 1920," and in accordance with a request by petition of ratepayers in tho Otoia Separate Eating Area the Patea County Council hereby resolves as follows: ‘ ‘ THAT for the purpose of providing part cost of formation of a deviation of the road at the Alton Gorge and metalling same, including the purchase of the necessary land for such deviation, the said Patea County Council hereby makes and levies a Separate Rate of ONEHALE PENNY in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Otoia Separate Rating Area within tho following boundaries;—

Commencing where the Ball Road crosses the southern boundary of section 403 thence proceeding in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of section 408 to where it joins the south-western boundary of section 402 along the Southern boundary of sections 402401 and 400, thence along the Manutahi Hoad being the northwestern boundaries of sections 400, 398, 396, 394, and 392, thence in a north-westerly direction along the Hursthousc Road to where it joins the Tauiuaha Road thence along the Hihunui and Piougora streams to the lugahape Stream thence in a northern and eastern direction generally along the lugahape Stream to where it joins the Mokoro Stream thence south-east along the Mokoro Stream to the north-eastern corner of section 3 thcnco south along the eastern boundary of section 3 to a point whore it joins the northern boundary of sub 1 of section, 1 thence cast along the northern boundary of sections sub 1 and 2 of section 1 to a point where it joins the western boundary of section 2 thence north along the western boundary of section 2 and cast along the Kawhiti Road and southeast along the Wainoa Road to the southern boundary of section 630 to whore it joins the eastern boundary of section 619 thence in a south-western direction along the south-western boundaries of sections 619, 620, part section 621 and part section 622 to a point wdiere tho Ohautu (Stream crosses the south-western boundary of section 622, thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of section 271 aud south-eastern boundary of sections 612, 434, and south-eastern and south-western boundaries of section 439 thence south along the eastern boundaries of sections 438, 441, and 443 and along tho southern boundaries of sections 443 and 403 to the Ball Road the commencing point. And such rate shall be an annual recurring rate for a period of two years and payable annually on tho Ist day of September, 1923, and Ist day of September, 1924, at the County Ofhcca, Egmont Street, Patca, during office hours." Tho foregoing resolution. was duly adopted at a Special Meeting of the Patca County Council, held on Tuesday, 14th August, 1923, and will be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on Tuesday, the 11th day of September, 1023. Tho Rato Book containing particulars of such Separate Rato is Open for inspection at the County Office, Patoa, during office hours. Dated at Patca this 16th day of August, 1923. W. F. PATEA' COUN.TY COUNCIL RAUKAITKO-KAHUEOA LOAN, £IOOO At a Special Meeting of tlio Patea County Council, held on Tuesday, I4th day of August, 1923, tlic following resolution was duly passed as a Special Order: — “ THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by the ‘Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913/ the Patea County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order to raise a loan of £IOOO with a currency of 3CJ years for the purpose of metalling for the first time the Raukapiko and Lower Ivahuroa Roads, the ratepayers of the Raukapiko-Kahu-roa Special Eating District having signified their assent in the form prescribed by No. 9 of the Regulations issued under ‘The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913/ to the raising of the said loan and to the pledging of a Special Rate of ONETHIRD of one penny (l-3rd of Id) in the pound to provide for the repayment of principal and interest of the said loan in accordance with Section 68 of the above-mentioned Act, and also consent to the pay* ment of the cost of raising the loan and of the first year’s Interest and Sinking Fund out of the loan.” The foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a Special Meeting of the Patea County Council held on the 14th day of August, 1923, and will be coniirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 11th day of September, 1923.
