EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT CLUB
ANNUAL RACE MEETING There was beautiful weather for the Hunt Club's meeting, with a largo attendance. The course was on tho holding side. The totalisator handled £11,229, against £9918 last year. Results: — HACK AND HUNTERS' HURDLES 1J miles. —Hindi 1, Tarquiu 2, Kaforte 3. Also started: Lochsou, Paul Moore, Polthoguo, Naughty, Captain Sarto, Kiko Kiko and Scotch Nell. In the straight Hindi went to the front and won by three lengths. Naughty fell, and his rider (Copestake) broke a collarbone. Time, 2.59£. MAIDEN HANDICAP, 5 furlongs.— Roremoaua 1, Inahman 2, Opa 3. Also started: Venour, Asleep, Pourihoiho, Rum Night, Master Lucerne, Lulu, Sylvia, Campbird, Lady Multona, Taitaiata, Avolo Surge and Unfils. A good finish. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.6.
HUNTERS’ HURDLES, li miles.— Bonny Rill 1, Royal Tar 2, Halcyon 3. Also started: Uncle Bob, Royal Spark, Gold Peak, St. Myrth, Vanchinecl, First Beat and Buzaicl. Won by three lengths. Time 3.1. WAYERLEY HACK HANDICAP, 7 furlongs.—Country Life 1, Night 2, Valencia 3. Also started: Mountain 8,011. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.37 J.
HUNT CUP, 2i miles. —Adrienne 1, To Tea- 2, Pattern 3. All started. Spreadeagle, Waitcaka and Paraoa fell. Won easily by five lengths. Time 6.1.
FLYING HANDICAP, 6 furlongs.— Complex 1, Snatcher 2, Amber Tips 3. Also started: Muraahi, Cold Steel, Nemaliue. A good race; won by a nock. Time 1.21 2-5.
LADIES’ BRACELET, H miles.— Advent 1, Dignity 2, Bonny Rill 3. Also Harp, Dramatist, Craigowan, Gravitate, Second Choice, First Beat, Surge, St. Myth, Pourihoiho, Kaipikari, Won by two lengths. Time 2.23 2-5.
MOUMAHAKI HACK HANDICAP, 6 furlongs.—Mangawhero 1, Mass Mickey 2, Country Life 3. Also started: Sunny Yale, Otapawa, Tekawa, and Take, Take. Won easily by six lengths. Time 1.10 2-5.
