PATEA RIFLE CLUB.
OPENING OF THE NEW RANGE. The above Club opened their new range on Saturday afternoon last in perfect weather conditions with the resuit that some good shooting was witnessed. Rflm. M. Carey, who is one of the oldest rifle shots at present 'competing in the Dominion, had the pleasure of firing the first shot, registering a bullscye amidst applause. Pres. P. Palmer, who can always be depended upon, to make a good score, headed the list for the day’s shooting with 34, one point off the possible. A new member in Rflm. C. Campbell registered 33, a very creditable shoot for the first time out. \ The Club will be represented at the forthcoming North Island Championship meeting to be held at Wanganui.’ Rflm, D.
