PATEA SPORTS GROUND COMMITTEE.
ORDINARY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Fatea Sports Ground Committee was held on Tuesday. Mr J. H. Cronin pre. siding. Messrs Locker, St routs, Gunn Cun. ningham, Haworth, Shoild, Hemingway, and Godfrey were also present. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £l4/19/- with liabilities £9 for labour.
The Secretary reported having received an offer of £5 from Mr Hobbs for the old pavilion as it stands, the offuror to remove the building and dear up the ground.
It was decided on the motion of Mr Strouts seconded by Mr Cunningham that the offer be accepted. It was decided that the £5 bo spent in connection with the Memorial Gateway where the Chairman and Secretary deem fit.
The Secretary reported that the sum of £2O was due by the Taranaki Rugby Union for rent of the local sports ground.
It was decided after discussion to ask the delegates to press for payment of the account.
It was also resolved to ask the Borough Council to deposit any surplus earth from the footpath in Egmont St., fronting the Domain on the northern portion of the sports ground near the macrocarpa tree*. Mr Strouts said he would like any mem Iters of the Committee who could to assist in marking out the ground, for lie school sports. The marking wju' 7 bo done on Friday, March24th. The Chairman said he hoped all who could would make a special point of being present.

It was decided on the motion of Mr Hemingway seconded by Mr Locker that the club be granted permission pro. vided the work is done to the satisfae. tion of the Sports Ground Committee and provided the club give due notice of the termination of the club’s season.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
