While in Dunedin last week Mr. Massey opened the new mothorcraft buildings at he Karatane-Harris Hospital. Dr TnVby King, president of the Eoyal Society Tor the Health of Women and children said the main purpose of the building was to provide accommodation for mothers and children, with a view to teaching' the essentials on their proper care. In the course of his remarks Mr. Massey said ho knew of many instances where the lives of many infants had been despaired of. and would have been lost, but for the work of the society, and he was glad to bo able to congratulate them on the work that had been done. Speaking as head of the Government, and on behalf of every member of it, and he believed every member ol Parliament would say the same—he could say that he considered the money spent in that work was well expended, and that they got particularly good value for it; and ho hoped the time would never come when they would have to turn down any request for the assistance that the society woud undoubtetly require in the future."
