WAVERLEY RETAINS BANNER. A team from Patou played a banner match on the local green on Wednesday, under beautiful weather conditions. The green was in splendid condition, and a pleasant game was played. During the first part of the game, play was fairly oven, and when the tea adjournment was made at the 12th head, the score was !) to S in favour of Patca. In the second spell, the Wavcrlcy rink drew away from .their opponents, and the game ended in a victory for the local men by 11 poims. The following are the scores, the I’atea team being mentioned first: Thompson, Whitcford, Bourko, and Boagcy 33 v. Walker, Pro use, Daliison and Mcrriman 24.
