PATEA SPORTS GROUND COMMITTEE.

ORDINARY MEETING,

The ordinary meeting of the Patea Sports Ground Committee was held Tuesday night, Mr. J, H. Cronin pro- - siding. Messrs. McKenna, Gunn, Cunningham, Hemingway, Strouts, and Locker wore also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The secretary reported that ,ho had interviewed Mr. Godfrey, who had offered to put in two days a week at 2s per hour, or oftener, if required. The committee had decided to accept the offer. It was unanimously resolved that the action of the committee bo confirmed, and that the committee have charge of Mr. Godfrey's work. -~i Mr. Gunn reported that in his opinion it would be a mistake to repair the present shod. Tim only thing was to erect a new one.

Mr. McKenna said when the Memmortal Gateway was completed the people would probably assist towards a new shed. It was decided that no action be taken in the matter at the present time.

The question of public conveniences was considered, and it was decided to erect same in a spot at the roar of the old shed, and that the chairman, and Messrs. Locker and Strouts be a commit tec to arrange with Mr. Gunn for temporary repairs to the present died until the now pavilion is erected. Mr. Cunningham drew attention to the holes .made in the ground during the tug-of-war competition.

It was decided that the holes be tilled up as soon as possible.

The secretary read a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the recent carnival, showing a credit balance of £O2 I7s Cd after all liabilities had been mot.

The balance sheet as read was adopted on the motion of Mr. Hemingway, seconded by Mr. McKenna. It was also decided that accounts mentioned be passed for payment. The committee also decided to place on record its warm appreciation of the Avork of the secretary and helpers in connection with the recent Carnival.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
