OBITUARY.
THK REV, FATHER DUFFY. Quite a gloom was cast over Hie town this morning when it became known that Father Duffy had passed away at (i o’clock. The decesaed had been in indifferent health for a long time past, and eventually it was found necessary for him to enter the local hospital, where he underwent a severe operation, from which lie never rallied, passing away as stated.
The late Father Duffy was a line type of the Christian gentleman, and had made a host-of friends outside of the members of his denomination, "ho will deeply deplore his demise. Of a. quiet- and unassuming nature, he nevertheless was to the fore in any public work for the welfare of the community, and many a project has been assisted by him unknown to the general public. His death will leave a void in the town that will be hard to till; in fact, it is not too much to say that no citizen will be more missed than the deceased.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday next, at the Paten Cemetery, a Requiem Mass being held at 11 a.m., the cortege leaving the church immediately after.
