A SUGGESTION.

(To the Editor) Door Sir, —May I put forward a suggestion with regard to the forthcoming dance in honour of our worthy Matron, to whom this district owes so much. I am one of those who have got beyond the dancing stage, and would like to he present at the Town Hall, but I do not want to go to a ■ lance. Could not the committee arrange a social, if it is only for, say, half an hour, at which we old fogies could be present, and afterwards leave for homo. If they can do this there will be, I am quite sure, a large crowd at the gathering, who would not othervise be present. —I am, etc., ANCIENT MARINER.
