LIQUOR IN BELLAMY’S. A month after the meeting of every new Parliament a poll of members has to be taken on the que|tion of whether (ho sale of alcoholic liquor shall be permitted in Bellamy's during the life of the Parliament. This poll was taken on Tuesday, and the result- was announced by Mr. Speaker on Wednesday as follows: — Legislative Council —Ayes, 24; nocs, 17. House of Representatives—Ayes, 50; nocs, 24. Totals—Ayes, 74; nocs, 41. A majority in favour of continuance of the sale of liquor of 33. Mr. Speaker, acting with the consent and authority of the Speaker of the Legislative Council, announced the result of the poll, and gave authority for the sale of liquor within the precincts of Parliament Buildings until the end of the present Parliament, and until a poll shall be taken in terms of the law after the meeting of next Parliament.
