PERSONAL.
The funeral of the late Mrs. A. Davidson look place tit (ho local cemetery mi 'Friday, the service being conducted by the Dev. A. A. 0. Lion in a most impressive manner. The lengthy cortege Sind largo number of floral emblems testified to the high esteem in which the deceased was hold throughout the district. The members of the office stall' and instructors connected with the Wanganui l-Miicalion hoard made a presentation of a pair of binoculars and a set of gold engraved slcovclinks to Mr. Fred I’irani on Friday on the occasion of his retirement from (he position of chairman of the Board. Eulogistic speeches were made by all the male members, and one of the ladies on the stall made a neat speech on behalf of (he seven employed in the Board’s office. All the speeches expressed gratitude, appreciation, and affectionate recollections of the consideration, encouragement, courtesy, and kindly help always extended to them.
