Mr. N. Hughes who, it will be remembered, was injured in a motor accident recently, returned home from the hospital on Wednesday last. Mr. T. Fitzgibbons, son of Constable Fitzgibbons, was admitted to the Patca hospital on Wednesday suffering from an attack of appendicitis. A meeting of the Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee was held on Friday afternoon Inst when several matters in connection with the soldiers’ reception were arranged. In this issue Messrs Heginbotham Bros. notif} r that on and after Ist August Id per lb. extra will, bo charged on all meat booked at their establishment. Accounts paid before 20th of the month will receive 10 per cent, discount.

A meeting of ladies willing to help in connection with the soldiers' entertainment is to be held in the Town Board room on Friday next at 2.30 p.m. An advertisement appears in another column.

The film “Ginger Mick" was shown to a good house on Thursday night last. Special music was provided for this nicturc by Miss Nicholls (piano), and Messrs S. Jo. Taylor (violin), L. Nichalls (cornet), and D. C. Nicholls (flute), and was much appreciated by the audience.

An amusing incident in connection with “wandering stock” occurred on Wednesday last when about seven sheen straying in the main street wandered ’nto a well-known picture framer’s shop and practically took charge for some minutes. When the lady in charge appeared the scene may be better imagined than described. -Evidently not satisled with the first episode, two of the <hcep immediately crossed the street end entered another shop, but wore soon making a very hasty exit. It is iiiroly “stock-taking” time.
