Seniors. WAITOTARA (0) v. PATEA (0) The Palea Senior team sustained its first defeat on Saturday at Waitotara when tlie home team came off victorious by 9 points tQ 0. The ground was particularly heavy and suited the local team who, on the day’s play, were the better team and thoroughly deserved their victory. Mr. Clem Hill refereed. OPAKU (4) v. WAVERLEY (3) A keenly interested struggle at Wavorloy between the Wavcrloy and Op’aku teams resulted in a victory for the latter by 4 points to 3. Juniors, ALTON (22) v. WAVERLEY (3) The Alton team had a runaway victory over Waverlcy at Alton on Saturday by 22 points to 3. Mr. S. Cameron refereed. PATEA (33) v. WAITOTARA (0) .. _ \ The Paten Juniors ran over the Waitotara Juniors at Patea on Saturday by 33 points to nil. Tries were scored by Andrews (3), Harold, Watson, W. Willis, A. Willis, Larcombe and Le Complc. Mr. A. Duncklcy refereed in an able and impartial manner. WAIROA v. TARANAKI The management committee of the Wairoa Rugby Union have accepted the offer of the Taranaki Rugby Union of a match with Taranaki at Stratford on Thursday, August 14th, the Taranaki Union paying all expenses. The local team will bo selected by Tuesday next.
