(f. Davies, J. 11, Johnson, Onnsby, Pev, N. J. Kavn Messrs H. 0. Horner, 11. D. Armour and J. Stewart being present. Mr. F. 0. Davies was unanimously voted to the chair and explained that after the recent Peace Celebration Service a general wish had been expressed that a choral society for Patca should be formed. Such u society need not consist entirely of active members. Honorary members could bo elected who would be given tickets to each concert that would be held. It was unanimously resolved on the motion of Mr. Armour, seconded by Mr. N. 0. Harding, that a society be formed to be called the Patca Choral Society with Mr. G. V. Pearce as patron and Mr. A. T. Christensen as president. The following committee was then elected : Mesdames Shield and Stephenson, and Messrs Armour, Harding, Horner, Johnson and Davies. It was decided to ask Mr. Onnsby to act as secretary and treasurer, and that an effort be obtained to secure the Druid’s Hall for practices. Mr. J. H. Johnson' was unanimously elected conductor. The annual subscription for active members was fixed at 5s and honorary members at 10s (id. It was also decided that the society give two concerts if possible before the end of the year. Friday night was unanimously selected as the practice night, the time being Jixed at 7.30, the first practice to be on the 25th inst. Mr. Johnson said there would be a fairly large outlay necessary for music, consequently the society could not afford lo let it go outside the meeting room, otherwise a considerable amount would be mislaid. Members, of course, could base their own music, which they could do what the liked with. The Society’s music woidd not be allowed to be taken away. Mr. Johnson also said he would suggest that all who took part in the recent Thanksgiving Service be members of the Society ex-ollicio, and in making the suggestion he would like to congratulate them all on (he magnificent success of (heir efforts. The suggestion was unanimously adopted, and a large number of honorary members were proposed and elected. it was decided that an account be opened at the Bank of New Zealand and that the secretary and treasurer sign cheques. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Chairman for presiding and convening the meeting, and the proceedings closed.
