BOWLING.

On Friday last four rinks of Mauaia bowlers visited the local club and played a match during the forenoon. The game was very enjoyable and was won by Manaia by four points. After lunch the visitors left for Hawera where they wore the guests of the Hawera Club. The results of the Patea match were as follows:

Taylor, Butler, Barleymau and Christie 24, Power, Boyle, Wood and Carey 31. O Taylor, Yane, Stevenson and Robertson 22, W Paterson, Pearce, Holtham and Hulbert 20. Totals —Mania 98, Patea 94.

The following ” Ferns ” matches were played at the end of the week: Holders—T Death, Elliott 17; Challengers— W Paterson and Hulbert 24, Holders—W Paterson and Hulbert 18; Challengers:—Booth and Johnson 21.
