Word has been received from the Defence Authorities that Privates T. J. Sheahan and Hngh O’Neill are returning with a batch of wounded to the Dominion shortly. Private Sheahan is a grandson of Mr J. Sheahan of Whenuaknra.

The many friends of Mr and Mrs W. Butler, who were nn till recently residents of Patea, will regret to learn that tin Defence Authorities have now reported that Private W. J. I. Butler, previously posted as missing, is now believed to be dead. Private Butler was wounded in the earlv stages of the Gallipoli campaign and susequently returned to the front being wounded again on August Bth in the memorable attack when Colonel Malnoe was killed. Private Butler was never seen after this. Followers of football will remember *' Billy Butler” as one of-the most promising three quarter hacks the Patea Club had for many years.
