EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT.

The Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Club held their usual weekly meet at “ Hayes ” the homo of the popular Master, Mr 0 Byrnes. As it was a bye day there were not so many following as usual. During the afternoon Mrs O Byrnes assisted'.by Mrs D B McDonald entertained the held to a dainty afternoon tea which was much appreciated, The members following were;—Huntsman D B McDonald on Singlefile, S Symes on Paddy. D McGorrery on Bill Bailey, J Morrison on Alex, Miss Cameron on Hohapu, M Smith on Sbellrock. T E Wilson on Sirsingle, A E Blake on Haddon, F Farr on Argo, T Bourke on Ngatroness. J Wells on Mao, F Bradley on Ergot. L Straohan on Monty, C Sneddon on Gayboy, G O’Eeilly on Taupo, J Aubl on Marnoo. Several good runs were obtained, one in particular of about two miles the hare finally getting away through a high boundary fence of gorae and boxthorne, Huntsman McDonald being the only one to negotiate this stiff obstacle which shows the splendid jumping qualities of his mount. The hedge has since been measured and is well oyer eight feet.
